EAVES & DOWNPIPES COMPLETED

On Friday our eaves were completed and the downpipes. Our electricity still isn't hooked up but hopefully Sydney Electric will hook it up next week so the gyprocking can go ahead. Sydney Water is not really moving or responding to phone calls, so there is no movement on the water front.

North Eastern front- eaves still need to be painted.

BRICKS CLEANED, AIR-CON DUCTING, POWER BOX

WOOOH....so much done in a few days. Since Monday the powerbox has been put in (no power yet- but this is a very positive sign that power will be on soon. The air-conditioning ducting was put in and the bricks were acid washed today, they look so pretty. Also it looks as if they are preparing the upper level for rendering with a white powdery substance being wiped all over the bricks.

The air-conditioning is funny. As part of our package we get free air-conditioning but our council wouldn't allow air-conditioning (?????). So we are getting free ducting and no air-conditioning unit until hand over. This is annoying as we now have to pay for the unit and the installation because of a council's green agenda. AAAHHH!!!!.

The eaves were also delivered today, so I assume they will be put up in the next few days.

The much anticipated power box. I gave it a kiss. :)
Acid washed bricks, aren't they pretty once they are cleaned.

BRICKING COMPLETED- OUR HOUSE IS CLOTHED

Even though it is Saturday the brickies were hard at work. They completed the bricking by mid-day. YEAHHHHHHH!!!! the bricking phase seems to take a long time.

I met with our Site Supervisor yesterday to sort out a few kitchen issues. He said that next week the eaves will be completed, the bricks will be acid washed and cleaned and the moroka rendering done. He wants the house to have the scaffolding removed asap as it does take up room in the lane way and the neighbours have been patient enough but we don't want to push it.

We have two big issues, we still don't have electricity or water. We have been borrowing a neighbours water to complete the bricks. Sydney Electric is being very slow and Sydney Water still needs to tap into the pipe running past our place. I really hope these issues can be resolved soon as the gyprocking requires electricity. And it would also sort of suck living in a house without electricity, water and gas.

LIGHTNING FAST BRICK PROGRESS- WOOSHCA!!!

I visited the house at 11am this morning. There were heaps of brickies, the front and eastern side were almost finished...zoooommm.

The head brickie said they will finish on Saturday or on Monday depending if they get a delivery of sand they desperately need. Talk about progress.

The top half of the house is going to be rendered so don't worry about the brick colour not matching.
The North Western corner.
The brickies posed for me. Cool guys.
Eastern side finished

3 MONTHS TODAY

It is 3 months since our start. YEAHH!!!
It was another beautiful day but the brickies were not on site to celebrate. No progress today. I hope they turn up tomorrow as they said they would have it finished by the end of the week.

BRICK UPDATE

Yesterday the forecast was a chance of rain. It rained all day non stop. :(.

Today the brickies were back on the job, not many in number but progress was made.

The front porch has two pillars. They have almost finished with the murray
grey and are about to start with the brick that will be rendered.
A sample of the uncleaned brick work. I really like the colour.
